چکیده

The pollution of water bodies due to the discharge effluents without treatment is a global problem. Therefore, different technologies have been implemented for removal contaminants from wastewater before final disposition. Among them, adsorption processes using residual biomasses are becoming very popular low cost and high availability adsorbents. Thus, in present work, synthesis modified biochar agro-industrial residues derived wheat-processing industry, as valorization alternative these residues, its use Cr (VI) methylene blue (MB) has analyzed. was prepared ramp function 5 °C/min until 250 °C 30 min. tests were developed batch system, mg adsorbent 10 mL solution. From SEM analysis, formation tubular cavities porous structure seen, caused by basic hydrolysis with KOH. tests, an capacity 12.98 mg/g 97.38% efficiency MB at pH noted, while (VI), it 11.35 85.15% 2. Freundlich’s model adjusted equilibrium data R2 > 0.9. maximum capacities monolayer 186,375 90.723 MB, according Langmuir’s model. kinetic study, can be said that process occurs chemisorption through electrostatic interaction ionic interchange between adsorbate adsorbent.

Removal of dyes using low cost adsorbents

The low cost adsorbents namely Rice Husk Carbon (RHC), Wheat Straw Carbon (WSC) and Saw Dust Carbon (SDC) have been tested for the effectiveness in decolourisation of wastewater containing a mixture of dyes. Three dyes namely crystal violet, direct orange and magenta have been used for imparting colour in the representative samples of wastewater. Effect of various parameters such as agitation t...

Removal of Heavy Metals from Waste Water Using Water Hyacinth

-Water pollution has become one of the most serious problems of today’s civilization. In the last few years considerable amount of research has been done on the potential of aquatic macrophytes for pollutant removal or even as bio-indicators for heavy metals in aquatic ecosystems. Water hyacinth is one of the aquatic plant species successfully used for wastewater treatment. It is very efficient...

Removal of Basic Organic Dyes of Textile Dyeing and Printing Industrial Waste Water by a Natural and Cost Effective Adsorbent

Dyes are one of prevalent types of chemicals used by human being today. Dyes are organic compounds which have complex aromatic molecular structure that make them toxic and harmful. When these dyes introduced with water due to textile dyeing and printing industrial waste water may cause problems to all living organism. In these dyes highly toxic metals are used as mordents so the removal of thes...

Column operation studies for the removal of dyes and phenols using a low cost adsorbent

Fertilizer plant waste carbon slurry has been investigated after some processing as an adsorbent for the removal of dyes and phenols using columns. The results show that the carbonaceous adsorbent prepared from carbon slurry being porous and having appreciable surface area (380 m2/g) can remove dyes both cationic (meldola blue, methylene blue, chrysoidine G, crystal violet) as well a...
